Project by the project “Mašīnbūves Kompetences centra izveide”, ID Nr. 1.2.1.1/18/A/008, study Nr. 2.1 Introduction of technological research and development of an optimized cathode-ray heater for the production of high-purity materials. The first application of the gas-dynamic window (GDO) in full-size processes was evaluated. The measured oxygen concentration in the samples of the melt residues after growing was 0.2-0.4 ppma, which is slightly higher than the results obtained using GDO in laboratory processes in project 2.3. Simulation of the plasma charge shape in an electron-beam heater and its optimization to improve control in the process of growing crystals, where the oxygen concentration was 0.15-0.25 ppma. Nevertheless, the obtained result shows that GDO worked quite efficiently, since in its absence the oxygen concentration in the melt residues was 4–6 ppma. A graphic model of a new electron-beam heater with integrated GDO has been prepared. The work is ongoing.
